What is CAS about?

All our IB Diploma students at GIS take part in Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) work. One of our Prefects, Erica, recently organised a talent show - in this video she tells us how it went and what she learned from the experience.

IB Diploma Information Evening

Dozens of parents came to our IGCSE and IB Information Evening.

They were given presentations about both courses and then had the chance to meet subject teachers and see displays about the various departments and the work they do.

Year 11 students also enjoyed the IB Taster Day, where they got to wear the IB uniform and go to some IB classes as they prepare to start studying for the IB Diploma next August.

Parents learned why GIS is the best school in the Eastern Region of Thailand for the IB Diploma, as we are the most experienced IB school, have enjoyed 100 per cent pass rates for two consecutive years and help our students go on to attend some of the world's best universities.

IB CAS students lend a hand at Pattaya charity

IB students from GIS spent a day helping one of our school’s charities by playing with children, making lunch, preparing a wall for painting and creating a vegetable garden.

All the IB Diploma students visited the Hand to Hand Foundation in Pattaya, which cares for children and families from challenging backgrounds.

Before visiting, the students planned the day with a series of activities for the children and also improvement works. This included preparing a garden area and cleaning an outside wall, in preparation for some new paint.

This visit was part of the students’ Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), an integral part of the IB Diploma at GIS that encourages students to develop themselves in non-academic ways. IB students organised the trip themselves, with help from CAS Coordinator Ms Clifton.
